Full Scholarship Details

The Government of the Czech Republic has a long tradition of granting scholarships to students from developing countries seeking admission into any Public University in the country.

Since its inception in the late 1950s, it has granted scholarships to over 20 000 scholarships to students who have also successfully graduated from Czech Universities, all courtesy of the Government of Czech.

The Scholarship is being governed by the Government’s Resolution No. 77 of January 28, 2019. This is part of the country’s effort aimed at supporting foreign national scholarships, especially nationals of developing countries, jointly supported by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the cooperation of the Ministry of Health.

 

Scholarship Requirements

The Czech Republic Government Scholarship 2022 is available for the 2023/2024 academic year and is available to the nationals of the following countries:

  • Bosnia and Herzegovina,
  • Cambodia,
  • Ethiopia,
  • Georgia,
  • Moldova,
  • Ukraine, and
  • Zambia

 

Citizens of the Czech Republic or any member of the European Union may not apply for this scholarship. In addition, foreign nationals with permanent resident permits in the Czech Republic are also not eligible.

These scholarships cover the standard length of study for the applicant’s designated programs, and include a one-year preparatory Czech language course in addition to other field-specific training.

 

Scholarship Duration and Reward

This scholarship covers the cost of education as well as living expenses in the Czech Republic. Students on Bachelor’s, Master’s, and follow-up Master’s receive a monthly stipend of CZK 14,000.

For Doctoral candidates, a paid stipend of CZK 15,000 is applicable every month.

 

The scholarship amounts stated also include the cost of accommodation, feeding, and public transportation but exclude health services exceeding standard care, in this case, the student has to cover the extra cost.

 

Method of Application

Applicants are to apply for the Czech Government Scholarship 2022 for developing countries by filling the online application form open until the 30th of September, 2022.

Successful applicants will start their studies in the 2023/2024 academic session.

 

Application Deadline

The scholarship is open for applications until September 30, 2022.
